super lice have already taken over 25 states. But super lice aren’t something extraordinary.

According to a latest study that was conducted in Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, it was revealed that over 25 states in the U.S. have people infested with these genetically mutated bugs.
Mr. Kyong Yoon, a professor at SIUE asserted in a study at the American Chemical Society that 104 out of the 109 head lice were tested and identified to be genetically mutated. And hence, were resistant to pyrethroids.
However, treating super lice isn’t different from treating regular lice. Chemical treatments failed at eliminating head lice back then, and continue to today. Nonetheless, here are some basic, yet effective, strategies for getting rid of these pesky bugs:
Stay Informed

Prevent the Spread
When you learn that you or your child has super lice, the first line of defense is preventing the spread to other family members and friends. Try to avoid head-to-head contact and sharing of personal belongings. The CDC advises not to share hats, brushes, scarves, hair accessories, pillows, sheets and other possessions that can make head lice transferable. This is the ultimate key to prevention.
